Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, The Oluwo of Iwoland, has appealed to hissubjects to take the use of face mask important as part of the measure to curb the spread of the deadly novel corona virus in the country and osun state in particular.

The monarch in a statement on Monday, amonished everyone to adhere to the Osun State government’s directive on use of facemask as he vowed to sack any of his staff who fails in this regards.

Oba Adewale Akanbi said, the use of facemask will curb spread of the deadly coronavirus in Osun and all parts of the country.

In his word: “I want to passionately appeal to my subjects to always use facemask. Coronavirus is air borne and it is not an infection to joke with. It is real and it kills. Let’s be proactive by using our facemask regularly and respect precautionary directives from the government.

“My chiefs, princes and staff must wear it to the palace. Any of my staff seeing outside or visiting the palace without facemask will be sacked. Let’s respect God in the present situation and stay safe.”

Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi also appealed to state residents and his Iwo land subjects to use face mask always. He stressed that this is highly necessary to prevent community transmission of COVID-19 as the disease is real.

He explained that the use of facial mask and strict compliance with all the state government’s guidelines on COVID-19 is the certain way to prevent spread of the deadly virus in the state.

The monarch also commends the efforts of the state government for the making it mandatory for Osun state residents to use facemask.

Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi also explained that Corona Virus is not a death sentence as he advised anyone feeling the symptoms to present themselves for necessary test not minding the stigmatizations against coronavirus patients.
